Gluten and Dairy Free Apple Pie Recipe

This pie filling recipe will make two pies. If you are using the Wholly Gluten Free Crust it comes with two crusts and the pie filling splits perfectly!

All ingredients needed:

  • Gluten Free Crust (one or two)

  • 2-4 Granny Smith Apples

  • Brown Sugar

  • Regular sugar

  • GF All-purpose flour

  • Heavy Cream

  • Vanilla Extract

  • Cinnamon

  • Butter

  • Salt

Pie Filling:

  • 2-4 Granny Smith apples depending on size

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (Wholesome Brand)

  • 1/2 cup regular sugar (Wholesome Brand)

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour (Pamelas’s)

  • 1/2 Cup Heavy cream (Silk\or GF Brand or opt. out)

  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract

  • 1/2 tbsp Cinnamon (Mortan and Bassett)

Crumble Recipe for one of two pies:

  • 7 tbsp butter (Earth Balance)

  • 3/4-1 cup all-purpose flour (Pamela’s)

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (Wholesome Brand)

  • Dash salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Peel, core, and slice thin your apples.

  3. Add the apples slices in a bowl, mix in the heavy cream, brown sugar, regular sugar, flour, vanilla, and cinnamon.

  4. After the apples are coated, split the mix into your two pie crusts.

  5. In a separate bowl, combine your crumble ingredients (butter, flour, brown sugar, salt) until everything comes together like clumps or crumbles.

  6. Place the crumble over the top of your pie filling.

  7. Make a second batch of crumbles for your second pie.

  8. Bake between 40-60 minutes, or until golden brown. Option to place foil over the pies for half the bake time.
